As a native to the Atlanta area, I was fortunate to have amazing opportunities to learn and grow early in my career. My original goal was to graduate from college and work on Wall Street, and I succeeded, with my first job out of college being with Lehman Brothers. From there, I served in various roles within Barclays Capital in New York, Toronto and Atlanta. I did it all – traded stocks, managed sophisticated portfolios, and became a highly knowledgeable financial professional.
I wanted to move on from the more impersonal nature of Wall Street, where I could see in real time the impact and value on families. In 2020 I joined Haven Wealth Advisors, with a focus on the investment side of the business It has been a great experience for me personally and professionally.
One of the key differentiators I always point out about Haven Wealth Advisors is that our portfolio management is conducted in house. We have a team that gathers regularly to define and solidify our investment strategy, based on numerous relevant factors – among them, the macroeconomic outlook, conversations with peers in the industry, and the extensive expertise available from our Northwestern Mutual colleagues. While we can always seek inputs from outside of our office, we aren’t dependent on outsiders for our decision making.
We also benefit from having built a truly multigenerational, integrated team. No matter what economic event has happened in recent history, there’s a leader on our team who has worked through that cycle. Whether it’s the global financial crisis of 2008, or something from decades earlier, we can use that background to help inform what to do next.
This knowledge from our subject matter experts isn’t something we keep to ourselves. Far from it. As we have quarterly calls with our clients, we proactively and transparently share the “why” behind the tailored and customized recommendations we make. This approach goes across all three of our pillars – planning, investments and insurance. Our high-net-worth clients particularly appreciate this personalized approach.
The economic environment is, of course, always changing, so continued learning is of the utmost importance at Haven Wealth Advisors. In doing so, we remain at the forefront of our industry – highly sophisticated, exceptionally competent, and ready to help our clients achieve their carefully planned goals, for both today and tomorrow.
